Your Senators’ Stock Trades

The STOCK Act (2012) requires members of Congress to publicly disclose stock trades within 45 days. The Senate publishes these as structured electronic filings. The House publishes PDFs.

This is the Senate data. 7,740 transactions from 53 senators, 2014–2020. Every purchase, every sale, every ticker. Search it. Filter it. See who's trading what.

Why Senate only?

Same law, two implementations. The Senate files electronically — structured data, machine-readable, downloadable. The House files paper forms as PDFs. To get the same information, you'd need to download thousands of individual PDFs and parse them.

The one project that did this work (House Stock Watcher) went offline. Its data is gone. The Senate's trading activity is searchable by anyone with a browser. The House's trading activity is searchable by anyone with a PDF parsing pipeline and cloud infrastructure.

Whether this is incompetence or design is left as an exercise for the reader.
